Carlton House is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join their team. This is a full time role at £13.40 per hour. Day Shifts: 08:00 - 20:00 (4 shifts per week) on a rota to include weekend working. Due to a genuine occupational requirement, we are looking to recruit male workers for this particular role. Carlton House is located in Rothwell Haigh, near to Leeds. It offers residential support for 10 male residents, including those on the autism spectrum or with a learning disability.

Our team are dedicated to working with each individual we support on a person-centred basis to create and achieve goals to meet their own expectations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents' wellbeing.
  • You will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
  • You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
  • You will help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.
  • You will supervise colleagues, lead team meetings and support your peers with their performance and professional development.
  • You will assist with the management of site petty cash and client funds.
  • You will support with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
  • You will perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
  • You will assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
  • You will provide assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
  • You will observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
  • You will support the development of important family connections and liaise with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.
  • You will encourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.
