We're looking for a dedicated Vocational Instructor to lead high-quality learning experiences within the CLC. This is a role where your expertise in education and animal care directly empowers young people to achieve their aspirations and lead purposeful, fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and adapt long-term learning programmes, record attendance and learning outcomes, document evidence, use structured teaching approaches, and support each young person’s This Is Me plan.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and stakeholders, share responsibility for a tutor group, provide lunchtime support, and ensure safeguarding and health needs are met.
  • Oversee the daily running of the CLC, deliver high-quality animal husbandry, maintain supplies and ensure excellent animal welfare at all times.
  • Write, read and follow risk assessments, maintain a safe and supportive learning environment with regular checks and order resources within budget.
  • Line manage the Animal Technician, support new staff induction, participate in staff check-ins and promote positive team morale and collaborative practice.
  • Carry out additional tasks as required, working consistently in line with the values and vision of Prior's Court.

Logistics

  • Wage: £27,500 - £34,000
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Mon to Fri, 8:30am to 4:30pm, 40 weeks per year (including 2 x 5 day Training Weeks and 2 x extended provision weeks)
  • Contract type: Permanent – term time. We recognise, support and reward our staff through a comprehensive and flexible benefits package.
