Team Manager - Dove Cottage (£300 Welcome Bonus)

Full-Time Remote
Prior’s Court

Prior's Court is recruiting a Team Manager for our young adult home Dove Cottage, to lead a team of Autism Practitioners to best support autistic young people with complex needs. You'll set the standard for day-to-day practice and coach your team to give each young person personalised, consistent support. New Team Managers receive a one-off £300 welcome bonus when they join (repayable if you leave within one year of service).

About Dove Cottage

Dove Cottage is one of Prior's Court's purpose-built young adult homes, currently home to six young people aged 19-25 who have a diagnosis of autism and learning disabilities. The young people like to be busy and active, using our 52-acre site for walking, cycling, the onsite gym and swimming pool, and enjoying shopping, meals out, trips to the beach, cinema, theme parks and holidays off site. Music is a big part of life in the home. There is a strong focus on independent living, building practical skills such as shopping, cooking and laundry through personalised learning and real-life experiences.

The role

As a Team Manager you will plan and manage the home day to day in coordination with the Care Manager, coordinating and supporting staff across each shift as well as supporting young people directly, including personal care, medication management and meal preparation. You will support young people to attend their individual learning programmes on and off site, plan activities and trips, and ensure each young person is supported in line with their care plans, PBS plans and therapy plans. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside our on-site therapy department, you will help implement strategies and adapt care plans, and maintain family contact through phone calls, video calls and parental visits.

Responsibilities

  • Line manage, coach and mentor a team of Autism Practitioners
  • Support the recruitment and induction of new staff
  • Manage staff attendance, including sickness and other absences
  • Oversee staff performance through monthly check-ins, conduct reviews, performance improvement plans and risk assessments
  • Implement autism-friendly strategies to enhance learning and wellbeing for young people
  • Assist in understanding and applying young people's "This Is Me" plans
  • Provide personal care aligned with each individual's "This Is Me" plan
