The Bakery Teacher will deliver high-quality learning in an environment that supports young people to grow and develop, and will plan, deliver and evidence learning to help young people achieve individual progress in Prior’s Court’s Learning Framework across all Areas of Learning.This is a role where creativity, compassion, and resilience come together — and where your work genuinely changes lives.**Key responsibilities*** Follow long-term planning as agreed with the Learning Lead* Create and adapt short- and medium-term learning plans for groups of young people, including support for Extended Day activities* Meet regularly with the Learning Lead to feed back and work collaboratively to improve outcomes* Use, and help others to use, schedules, visual structure and communication systems to help young people understand and carry out tasks and activities successfully* Understand, and support others to understand and implement, young people’s This Is Me plans for areas of learning* Maintain regular contact with young people’s parents and other key stakeholders, sharing progress updates* Ensure relevant environments are functional learning spaces* Maintain a safe and supportive environment for young people, including monthly monitoring* Role model best practice and provide coaching and mentoring to a range of autism professionals**What we are looking for*** Qualified or unqualified teacher* Experience of teaching food-based learning to children or young people* Ability to write, follow and adapt long-term planning and assess outcomes for children and/or young people* Qualification in Food Hygiene* Knowledge of baking and bakery equipment (desirable)* Knowledge of autism and complex needs (desirable)For more information, please see the full job description.Apply now### Qualifications/experience* Qualified or unqualified teachers welcome – teaching qualification (or willingness to study for one) desirable.* Experience of teaching autistic children/young adults in an education environment, or of working within a special/complex needs education environment.* Experience of using a range of assessment tools relevant to the needs of autistic children/young adults with complex needs.* Effective working within Multi-Disciplinary Teams.* SEND qualification, TEACCH training and knowledge of the OFSTED Education Framework (desirable).### BenefitsWe know that our people are central to everything we do.
