Young people at Prior’s Court deserve the same access to education as others their age – to make this possible, the right learning environment is crucial. Prior’s Court has a school onsite; however, the building was inherited from when the site was a boarding school and therefore is not tailored to young people’s learning styles and needs. As a result, teaching and learning can be limited and young people risk missing out on vital education and skills needed for their future. This isn’t good enough and that is why we are fundraising to create outdoor classrooms that will encourage and enable continued learning for all young people at Prior’s Court.
The bespoke outdoor classrooms have been designed to address the limitations of the current classrooms and have been tailored to meet the specific needs of autistic young people with complex needs. The difference these outdoor spaces will have on young people’s learning will be transformational. Just some of the outcomes include:
- Reducing missed lessons and education due to having close access to regulatory equipment.
- Increasing learning by being in a tailored environment and having access to a calm, outdoor space.
- Easy transitions from home to classroom meaning more young people accessing education.
- Opportunities for regulation so young people can focus and engage in lessons.
- Bespoke interactive elements that will aid learning, encourage curiosity and build confidence.
Your donation will help young people to engage with the education they deserve, learn vital life skills, feel fulfilled and discover a passion.
