Prior’s Court is seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Estates team. Working as part of a small, dedicated team, you will provide essential support in maintaining and repairing our buildings, facilities, and grounds, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for the young people and staff who use our site.

Hours: 40hrs a week on a rotating 4 day shift pattern, Mon-Fri - with on-call shifts

Contract type: Permanent, full-time

Location: Based at one location: Thatcham, RG18 9NU

Extras: Must have a driving license and own a car due to the location of the role

This is a varied, hands-on role requiring strong general maintenance skills, a flexible and proactive approach, and a clear commitment to health and safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Working as part of the Estates team, the postholder will ensure that Prior’s Court buildings, facilities, and equipment are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all users.

The role involves:

  • Responding to day-to-day maintenance needs
  • Supporting statutory compliance

Work in line with all health and safety policies, carrying out basic statutory testing and inspections and ensuring accurate recording and reporting. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns, undertaking a wide range of general building maintenance and repair tasks to a high standard. Maintain buildings, facilities, and equipment to ensure safety, usability, and a consistently high-quality environment. Contribute to service delivery and continuous improvement by meeting quality standards and proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement. Provide operational support, including moving furniture and equipment, working collaboratively with colleagues and contractors, and completing additional practical duties as required. Participate in on-call rotas and flexible working arrangements, drive Prior’s Court vehicles as needed, and maintain professional conduct through ongoing training and development.
