We are seeking a permanent and friendly vehicle driver to join our team at Prior’s Court, located near Newbury (RG18 9NU). This is a great opportunity to play a key role in providing transportation services for the Prior's Court staff, ensuring they arrive at their workplace safely and on time. This role offers both weekday and weekend availability, with shifts arranged to suit your preferences which can be discussed during the interview.
Please note: Buses are located at Priors Court, you therefore would need to come to site before starting your route. The primary purpose of this role is to drive vehicles to provide a safe and reliable pick‑up and drop‑off service for staff members. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring punctuality, passenger safety, and vehicle maintenance, while representing Prior’s Court Foundation in a professional manner. This will involve you supporting a pick up/drop off service on an agreed route for our staff, arriving on time at the correct locations and bringing them to their place of employment promptly and reliably.
Role responsibilities:
- Drive Foundation vehicles on designated routes to transport staff to and from work in a timely and safe manner.
- Conduct regular vehicle checks to ensure it is in good working condition, including topping up fuel, windscreen wash, and ensuring roadworthiness before each journey.
- Provide a welcoming, friendly service to staff members, ensuring they have a comfortable and pleasant journey.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, pick‑up/drop‑off times, and hours worked for payroll purposes.
- Ensure vehicles are securely parked when not in use.
Qualifications / Preferred experience:
- Valid UK driving licence with the D1 category (required).
- Experience driving mid‑size and large vehicles.
- Good geographical knowledge of Basingstoke, Swindon, Oxford, Reading, and Newbury areas.
