Priority Recruitment is pleased to be recruiting compassionate and experienced Female Support Workers to support a young adult female within a well-established, person-centred care package in Amotherby, near Malton (North Yorkshire). You will be working in the client's own adapted home, supporting her with daily living, personal care, and community engagement as part of a consistent and supportive team.
About the Client:
The client is a 22-year-old female wheelchair user who requires 24/7 care and support. She lives at home with her mother and younger sister in a fully adapted property, including ceiling track hoists, mobile hoists, accessible bathroom facilities, and a sleep system bed. There is a carer office/room available for overnight sleep-in shifts. She has a great sense of humour and enjoys:
- Visiting cocktail bars and pubs
- Musical theatre trips (London & Leeds)
- Films and reality TV
- Shopping online and in the community
- Social activities and days out
Support in the community is often provided on a 2:1 basis, and the team is currently encouraging greater independence by supporting her to engage in activities with staff rather than relying solely on family support.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care with dignity and respect (including bathing, dressing, and hygiene)
- Supporting with feeding and medication administration
- Using ceiling track and mobile hoists safely (training available)
- Following detailed, person-centred care plans
- Supporting daily routines, including later bedtimes and flexible mornings
- Encouraging independence and confidence away from family support
- Supporting social activities, outings, and trips
- Driving the client using a WAV automatic vehicle
- Liaising with the Team Leader and wider care team
- Maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding procedures
Shift Pattern:
Mixture of 12-hour shifts and 24-hour shifts with overnight sleep-ins. Shifts are fixed, with some flexibility discussed around activities. Weekends only 12hr.
