Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality care and emotional support
- Supporting young people with daily routines, education and activities
- Building trusting relationships and acting as a positive role model
- Encouraging independence and essential life skills
- Supporting behaviour using appropriate therapeutic strategies
- Observing, recording and reporting progress or concerns
- Following individual care plans and safeguarding procedures
- Supporting social activities, community outings and appointments
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
- Maintaining accurate records and promoting a safe environment
Household responsibilities include:
- Supporting cooking, cleaning and everyday household activities
- Encouraging healthy routines and balanced meals
- Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming home
- Supporting young people to develop practical independence skills
Successful Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- Minimum 12 months' relevant UK experience
- Full driving licence essential
- Level 3 qualification in Children's and Young People's Workforce desirable
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends
- Willingness to complete training and develop professionally
