Overview

Priority Recruitment are proud to present an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a 4-bed children’s residential home in London, supporting young people aged 11–17 with emotional and behavioural needs. This role is suited to an established Registered Manager or a strong senior leader with 2–3 years’ management experience, who is confident leading a home regulated by Ofsted and committed to delivering high‑quality, trauma‑informed care.

Salary & Benefits

  • Base salary ÂŁ53,000, OTE up to ÂŁ60,800
  • 32 days annual leave including bank holidays (increases by 1 day per year for the first 3 years)
  • Ofsted bonus: ÂŁ3,000 for Outstanding, ÂŁ1,500 for Good
  • Occupancy bonus: ÂŁ400 per month (full occupancy)
  • Company car or travel allowance of ÂŁ3,000 per annum
  • On‑call duties included within salary and rarely required

Main Purpose of the Role

The Registered Manager is accountable for delivering high‑quality, child‑centred care, ensuring the home operates in line with all regulatory, safeguarding, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall leadership and day‑to‑day management of the home
  • Strategic planning and continuous development of care practices
  • Ensuring positive outcomes for each young person through trauma‑informed, relationship‑based care
  • Leading, supervising, mentoring, and developing staff teams
  • Organising staff rotas and ensuring appropriate staffing levels at all times
  • Working collaboratively with external professionals and agencies
  • Maintaining full compliance with safeguarding procedures, policies and legislation

While contracted for 40 hours per week, the Registered Manager is responsible for arranging their own rota, which may include occasional evening, weekend or night‑time duties to meet the needs of the home.

Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 2–3 years experience in a management role within children’s residential care
  • Experience supporting young people aged 11–17 with challenging behaviour
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management
  • NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People (minimum)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and staff management skills
  • Sound knowledge of Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, Children’s Homes Regulations, Safeguarding procedures
  • No disciplinary history or failed Fit Person declarations
  • Able to gain approval from the appropriate statutory body

  • Six‑month probationary period
  • Three months’ notice required on either side (excluding disciplinary matters)
  • Role subject to an enhanced DBS check
