Thriving Healthcare is excited to present a new opportunity for Support Workers to join a dedicated team supporting an individual with a severe acquired brain injury in their own home in Rotherham.
We are looking for people who want to provide genuine rehabilitation-focused support, helping someone maintain and develop their independence rather than simply completing tasks for them.
Our client is articulate, engaging, funny and sociable, but their brain injury significantly affects their cognition, behaviour and relationships.
Building trust takes time, and the right Support Workers will need to be resilient, patient and confident maintaining clear professional boundaries.
Previous brain injury experience would be advantageous, but the right attitude, personality and willingness to learn are equally important.
Extensive client-specific training and support will be available from an experienced multidisciplinary clinical team.

- Supporting an individual with a severe acquired brain injury and physical disabilities within their own home.
- Working as part of a 2:1, 24-hour support package.
- Promoting independence and actively supporting the client's rehabilitation goals.
- Encouraging the client to complete activities for themselves wherever possible rather than automatically doing things for them.
- Supporting daily living, personal care, mobility and meaningful activities.
- Following individual rehabilitation programmes and recommendations from the wider clinical team.
- Building a positive and consistent professional relationship with the client.
- Maintaining clear professional boundaries at all times.
- Working collaboratively with the Team Leader, Registered Manager, family and multidisciplinary team.
- Completing comprehensive client-specific training to understand the client's brain injury, communication, behaviour, rehabilitation and physical support needs.

- Willing to undertake extensive client-specific training and apply rehabilitation strategies consistently between clinical sessions.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service would be highly advantageous due to the anticipated mobilisation timescale.
