Job Description: To oversee the Customs Team based in Dover, leading the provision of services that support both clients directly as well as offices throughout the company, and which involves international road and airfreight solutions, utilising Imports and Exports.

Key Duties:

  • Advise and guide management in all matters relating to the import and export of goods, inclusive of all changes to government guidelines/instructions.
  • Lead and develop a progressive and efficient team of Customs specialists, focused on providing high levels of customer service.
  • Oversee the induction and training of new team members in accordance with the applicable Custom Clearance procedures.
  • Ensure that all necessary internal and external technical Custom Clearance tools, software and working practices are maintained to industry-leading levels.
  • Advise our teams and our customers and oversee the implementation of any agreed or required Customs Clearance action plans.
  • Be conversant with developments within Customs Clearance throughout the UK, the EU and all other territories served by the company.
  • Implement the relevant IT packages and have the ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data.
  • Develop and implement a clear vision of how to progress the Customs service offering within the company.
