Priority Childcare, part of Orbis Education & Care, is recruiting a Waking Night Support Worker to join our dedicated adults service at Graig Y Bedw in Swansea. We provide person-centred, compassionate support that helps individuals feel safe, secure, and supported throughout the night.

About Graig Y Bedw

Located in Pontarddulais, Graig Y Bedw is a newly refurbished adults service within a 3 bed home, offering highly tailored support in a calm residential setting. The service supports adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and autism, and works closely with local communities across Swansea and the surrounding area. Our size allows for consistent routines, strong relationships, and truly individualised care.

The Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in maintaining a peaceful and reassuring environment while individuals rest. Although nights are quieter, your presence is essential for safety, comfort, and continuity of care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing reassurance and emotional support during the night
  • Monitoring wellbeing and responding to needs or incidents
  • Supporting personal care when required
  • Completing scheduled checks and maintaining a safe environment
  • Accurately recording night-time observations and incidents
  • Ensuring clear and effective handovers with the day team
  • Supporting light household tasks where appropriate

This Waking Night Support Worker role is ideal for someone who is:

  • Calm, patient, and caring, with a reassuring manner
  • Reliable and confident working independently overnight
  • Able to remain composed in unexpected or challenging situations
  • Willing to work waking night shifts as part of a rota, including weekends
  • In possession of a full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Motivated to learn and develop, with full training provided

This position involves regulated activity with adults and requires an Enhanced DBS with barred list check.
