From our very first home in Arbroath to our purpose-built facilities like Harestane Care Home in Dundee, every detail of our care—and our surroundings—matters deeply.
As part of our commitment to creating beautiful, welcoming spaces for our residents, we are now looking to welcome a dedicated Gardener / Grounds Person to join our team.
The Role
As our Gardener / Grounds Person, you’ll take pride in maintaining and enhancing the grounds of several of our care homes, helping to create relaxing, sensory-rich outdoor spaces that our residents, families and staff can enjoy year-round.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regular maintenance of lawns, hedges, flower beds and planters
- Planting seasonal flowers, shrubs and maintaining outdoor displays
- Pathway, patio and driveway clearance and upkeep
- Ensuring all garden areas are safe, tidy and accessible
- Assisting with minor outdoor maintenance tasks (fencing, outdoor furniture, etc.)
- Supporting our care teams with occasional resident gardening activities
- Winter gritting / clearing of pathways to ensure safe means of access and egress from buildings.
- Travelling between sites (travel allowance/mileage provided)
About You
You’re someone who loves the outdoors and takes pride in their work. You understand that a well-kept garden can lift moods, trigger memories and offer moments of calm.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Proven experience in gardening, grounds maintenance or landscaping
- Basic knowledge of plants, lawn care and garden machinery
- A proactive, reliable attitude and ability to work independently
- A full UK driving licence (essential for travel between homes)
- An understanding of or willingness to learn about working in a care setting
