We are seeking to hire a Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager to deliver efficient and effective day to day running of the home and create a highly unique experience for the residents and their families. The ideal deputy manager would have experience working in the healthcare industry and be confident to take charge of the Home in the absence of the Manager.
Skills and knowledge required:
- RGN qualified with active PIN registration
- Experience in assessing an individual’s care and support needs
- Ability to build effective working relationships with Clients, Families, Staff and other Professionals
- Experience within a residential or Nursing Setting
- Experience of leading and managing people
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to monitor paperwork compliance for both Clients and staff members
Duties Include:
- To support/assist the Manager in providing high quality of care to residents within the home.
- To ensure the Residents are at the centre of the care process and their preferences are respected.
- To keep the Manager informed of all important issues relating to the home, clients, staff seeking guidance as required.
- To act in the Home Manager’s absence, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home, making sure there are adequate staff to carry out all duties whilst ensuring the Home continues to provide a safe and secure atmosphere for residents and staff alike beneficial to their overall wellbeing.
- To support the Home Manager with admission planning, ongoing assessments and discharge plans as and when required.
- To participate in Staff recruitment and selection.
- To ensure the necessary paperwork, recording systems and organisational documentation are of a high standard, updated and maintained.
- To oversee the duty rota monthly in advance ensuring the correct skills and numbers required are on duty.
- To effectively communicate to all staff the aims and objectives of the Home through verbal and written communication.
- To comply with all relevant legislation and where risks are identified, report them and take appropriate action.
- To ensure administration of medication in accordance with recognised protocols and controls.
- To undertake any additional duties deemed appropriate by the Home.
Job Type: Full time/ Permanent, Monday – Friday & Every other weekend, 3 Full days on the floor (33.75 hours) and 1 Office Day (9am – 5pm).
About Drumdarroch Care Home: Located in the heart of rural Aberdeenshire, just off the A96, Drumdarroch House Care Home is a one storey, purpose-built care facility with a homely atmosphere for 41 clients. Drumdarroch enjoys an open aspect on the edge of the village of Insch with fantastic views of woodland, Dunnydeer Hill and the remains of the Dunnydeer Hill Fort.
