The Role

  • Prepare well balanced / nutritious menus
  • Ensure alternative menu in accordance with client’s likes/dislikes and any special diets required
  • Adhere to Food Handling Hygiene / Health & Safety Regulations
  • Serve meals at specific times, ensuring that portions are retained for clients who will arrive at a later time
  • Maintain an up-to-date record of client likes/dislikes including any new admissions
  • Maintain required standard of general cleanliness in the kitchen, using appropriate cleaning materials as instructed.
  • Store, maintain all equipment according to Work Instructions
  • Report any faults / breakages to ensure repair / replacement
  • Keep kitchen cupboards / stores in clean / tidy condition

Vigeans is a large Victorian House with modern extension, located in the east coast fishing town of Arbroath.

It is situated on an elevated site with sloping, mature gardens and overlooks the North Sea.

Nearby are sea front leisure grounds, the harbour and the town centre.

It specialises in residential care for adults with learning disabilities, and our clients are offered the opportunity to develop their independence and potential in all aspects of their life, fully supported by suitably qualified staff.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
