About the Opportunity
A health technology company is seeking a lawyer licensed in the United Kingdom with strong experience in medical device and health IT compliance to support NHS Digital DCB0129 clinical safety requirements. This is a short-term, hands-on consulting engagement focused on aligning existing quality and risk documentation with DCB0129 and standing up a compliant Clinical Risk Management framework for software and digital health products deployed in NHS environments.
The work will involve:
- DCB0129 Gap Assessment
- Review existing regulatory, risk management, and quality documentation.
- Conduct a structured gap analysis against DCB0129 requirements.
- Identify missing processes, roles, documentation, and governance elements.
- Deliver a prioritized remediation plan.
- Clinical Risk Management Framework
- Establish a DCB0129-compliant Clinical Risk Management System aligned with the existing QMS.
- Define governance structures, including Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) responsibilities, escalation pathways, and sign-off processes.
- Ensure traceability across clinical hazards, mitigations, verification, and residual risk acceptance.

- Safety-related SOPs and templates

- Provide scalable, practical processes for a software and health IT environment.
- Support internal teams in operationalizing and maintaining compliance through product updates.

Duration: Approximately 2 months
Compensation: $90 – $125 per hour (USD)
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in the United Kingdom.
- Direct experience advising digital health or SaMD companies on UK medical device compliance.
- Hands-on experience implementing DCB0129 clinical safety systems and safety cases.
Engagement is as the client’s independent contractor / outside counsel.
