We are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join our small team of bank staff to offer cover for our teaching assistant team if they are absent due to illness or because of pre-arranged training. The hours of work will vary week on week (depending on need) and so too will the year group that the successful candidate will be asked to work in. It is essential that applicants have previous experience of working as a member of support staff in a school environment. Evidence of working within Early Years and/or Key Stage 1 is desirable.

The successful candidate will support the class teacher with their responsibility for the development and education of children in school and use routine supervision and care skills to support pupils in class and at lunchtime.

  • Curriculum Support: To assist the teacher with classroom organisation and to undertake directed work with individual pupils and small groups, providing support for pupils with additional needs as appropriate.

  • Lunchtime: To assist in the supervision of children and model and facilitate play, to ensure that they are happy and safe at lunchtimes.
  • General: To provide general support to the working environment of the school, in doing so promoting the school's aims and ethos in all aspects of work undertaken.
  • First Aid: To provide first aid and basic intimate care for pupils.

Visits to our school are encouraged and welcomed and Mrs Chivers, our Headteacher, would be delighted to show you around.
