About the PRI

The PRI is the world’s leading proponent of responsible investment. It works to understand the investment implications of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and to support its international network of investor signatories in incorporating these factors into their investment and ownership decisions.

The PRI’s three distinct capabilities relate to the core elements of the PRI’s approach to achieving a sustainable financial system.

  • Translate RI (Responsible Investment) thought leadership into insights and practical support that is tailored to what signatories need to progress their RI practice
  • Convene our vast network to create opportunities for collaborative action
  • Harness our global scale to influence policymakers and regulators to effect system change

At the PRI, products might include tools, insights, guidance, new solutions and reporting platforms which can be utilised by investment managers, asset owners or service providers to help them meet the PRI Principles and add value to their RI investment and business processes.

Job Description

As a Product Owner at the PRI, you will be responsible for managing the product lifecycle, including planning, delivery, communications, marketing, and in‑life optimization of the product. Reporting to the Lead Product Owner, the Product Owner is a broad role, working across multiple internal teams and external stakeholders to build solutions that our signatories value and support our mission. This role will focus on digital collaboration and voting products (incl. the Collaboration Platform and Resolution Database) that enable signatories to connect, share insights and participate in joint initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

Managing product delivery – from beginning to end

  • Reporting to the Lead Product Owner, contributing to the roadmap for the product set within their working team to facilitate prioritised roll‑out aligned to key dependencies, business and technical factors and market demand
  • With the support of the team, you will be working across the organisation in an agile way to develop the business requirements and deliver the product roadmap based on user insights, landscape analysis and PRIs strategic objectives – on time and within budget. You will be developing towards working more independently.
  • Manage the product through its lifecycle including delivery cycles, working closely with, and supporting, the Technical Product Owner, other key team players and external vendors (as appropriate) to consider the development of the features within the construct of the overall solution.
  • Working independently, and with more junior colleagues, on building out the requirements in detail, focused on outcomes from the deliveries and how the additional features/products/solutions will enhance the PRI’s products. Will involve working with more junior team members in building out the requirements.
  • Identify the end‑user and focus on enhanced features and functionality that address their needs to define and deliver future product versions/iterations.
  • Support the continuous improvement of platform‑based products, focusing on user engagement, adoption and value delivery.

Monitoring product performance

  • Identify success criteria and the metrics that will be used to measure them.
  • Monitor product performance against KPIs addressing product performance and using data‑driven insights to inform product roadmap and prioritisation decisions.

Communication and stakeholder engagement

  • Helping design and support the communication of the product vision and strategy to internal and external stakeholders and ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Product Communications, Investor Initiative & Collaboration and Marketing teams to develop product messaging, positioning, and go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify necessary changes to business processes stemming from product updates.

Understanding the implications of industry and technology trends

  • Learning about, and staying up to date, with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify new product opportunities including attending conferences and industry events.

Supporting us work better together

  • Contribute to improving team processes that enhance product management including roadmap delivery, user experience and value, and contribution to PRIs mission.

Person Specification

  • A demonstrated interest in new technology possibilities, including use of AI to improve the speed and quality of output and product opportunities.
  • Good understanding of product lifecycle, preferably in a SaaS, RaaS, software/platform development or data product environment and a keenness to learn and adopt new processes.
  • Developing project management skills, designing and delivering projects to tight deadlines, managing conflicting priorities and acknowledging interdependencies, and managing and collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Good public speaking skills with the ability to give presentations, lead meetings, and communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Attention to detail, with curiosity to understand how to develop effective solutions for PRI signatories.
  • A collaborative and consultative approach, with strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills across internal and external stakeholders, fostering an inclusive environment.
