We are looking for a Sound & AV Engineer to join a research team working on next-generation AR/VR. You will be based in a world-class acoustic lab, setting up kit, capturing high-quality audio and video, and supporting researchers on cutting-edge projects.
The Offer
- Annual Salary up to £70,000 doe
- 12-month contract - inside IR35 - PAYE + possibility of extension
- Location: Cambridge - Fully onsite

The Role
- Set up, test, and calibrate microphones, speakers, audio interfaces, and recording systems
- Capture high-quality audio/video data in a controlled lab environment
- Process and validate recordings to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Work closely with engineers and volunteers during data collection sessions
What We’re Looking For
- 2-4 years’ experience in audio, acoustics, or AV engineering roles (lab, R&D, test, or similar)
- Strong hands-on experience with microphones, DAWs (Logic, Pro Tools), and audio interfaces
- A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative lab setting
- Nice to have: Python, Linux/command line or database experience.
