Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Test Engineer to join our team in the Change Function and work as part of the QA Community within Principality Building Society. Being part of a delivery team, as a Test Engineer you will be responsible for testing activities within the software development lifecycle. More specifically in the engineering role, test automation, non-functional testing and automated regression testing during the pre‑release lifecycle play a key part. For this role we are particularly interested in advanced Load and Performance Testing skills as there will be opportunity in contributing and delivering Continuous Improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the wider QA capability and the Team’s ways of working.
Key Responsibilities for Automation Test Analysis, Planning & Execution:
- Design, build and deploy effective automated tests for pipeline execution, including advanced non-functional test automation solutions.
- Apply appropriate automation technologies to meet the short‑ and long‑term goals of the organisation.
- Enhance UI and API test frameworks and develop consistent automated scripts.
- Plan testing accurately and collaborate with team members for improved workflow.
- Report and verify software bug fixes to meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities for Quality Assurance Oversight & Control:
- Define Test Plans in line with our Test Strategy.
- Manage delivery in line with our Quality Standards.
- Design and execute exploratory test scripts.
- Facilitate and communicate progress updates and quality metrics to multiple audiences to support and enable key decisions.
- Identify, Analyse and Mitigate risks to quality and program/project delivery.
Essential Criteria for the role:
- Hands‑on experience of building functional and non‑functional Automated Test Frameworks using automation tools.
- Experience in training and coaching team members in testing methodologies.
- In‑depth proven working knowledge of UI, API and Integration test automation concepts and principles.
- Good knowledge of CI/CD and Azure DevOps Pipelines.
- An excellent ability to grasp new strategies, tactics and technical issues quickly.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, coupled with the ability to rapidly assimilate knowledge and business process.
- Strong appreciation of Agile software delivery methodologies.
- Ability to manage own workload and work on a diverse range of projects often to tight time scales.
