We’re looking for an ambitious Data Protection Analyst to join the team for 12 months, who can provide advice, assistance and oversight to the organisation in respect of Data Protection matters and promote responsible Data Protection practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing risk‑based advice, assistance and oversight on Data Protection matters, promoting Data Protection by Design and ensuring Data Protection and privacy issues are considered at the outset of new projects, products and initiatives.
- Developing and embedding a culture of responsible Data Protection practice through training and regular communications.
- Undertaking Data Protection Impact Assessment screenings and other standard risk mitigation activities, making recommendations to business areas to strengthen controls and providing oversight implementation of these controls.
- Maintaining the Record of Processing Activities under guidance from senior team colleagues, ensuring all entries have a clear basis for processing, and provide advice to first line teams to allow customers to exercise their enhanced rights.
- Assisting first line teams to embed and adhere to specific Data Protection standards and procedures, including use of tools such as file scanning.
- Work closely with colleagues in the Data Protection team, including the DPO, to ensure actions arising out of Data Protection incidents are completed.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience of working within a Data Protection or Privacy function.
- Strong working knowledge of UK Data Protection legislation and association legislation (including Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulations).
- Previous experience of working within the Financial Services sector or similar regulated industry.
- A recognised Data Protection or Privacy qualification (e.g. BCS, PDP or IAPP), or the appetite to complete relevant studies within 12-month period.
- A confident communicator, able to guide and influence stakeholders in the adoption of Data Privacy controls.
- A keen desire for continuous improvement in the delivery of Data Protection advice, assistance and oversight.
- Able to bring innovative ideas around use of data within the Society, with ability to implement and deliver benefits.
