Principal Education is looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to work as unqualified teachers and cover supervisors in secondary schools across London. These are flexible, daily supply roles – you choose when you're available.
The role
As a cover supervisor, you'll manage a classroom in the absence of the teacher, delivering pre‑prepared lessons and ensuring a safe, positive learning environment. You won't be expected to plan or teach lessons, but you'll play a key role in supporting pupils' learning and behaviour.
What you MUST demonstrate
- Right to work in the UK
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to support pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
- Flexibility, adaptability, and confidence to think on your feet
- Calmness under pressure
- An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Overseas police clearance if you've lived abroad for 6+ months in the last 5 years
- Based in London or within a commutable distance
- Able to provide 2 references from the last 2 years from professional emails
Pay and benefits
£120‑£140 per day for flexible daily cover, depending on experience. Higher pay rates for ongoing roles, aligned with the unqualified teacher pay scale.
