Principal Education is seeking caring, patient and compassionate Personal Care Teaching Assistants to support pupils across schools in Newham. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable providing personal care support, including feeding and changing, while helping pupils access learning and develop their independence.
The role:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
- Assist with personal care, including feeding, changing and toileting
- Support pupils with mobility and day-to-day needs where required
- Help pupils engage with learning and classroom activities
- Build positive relationships while promoting dignity, confidence and independence
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff
What you MUST demonstrate:
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Comfortable providing personal care, including feeding and changing
- Patient, caring and empathetic approach
- Ability to support pupils with additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
- Overseas police clearance if required
- Based in Newham or within a commutable distance
Pay and benefits:
- £100-£130 per day, depending on experience
