Principal Education is a recruitment agency working on behalf of a special school in Hammersmith. The school needs a Learning Support Assistant to join its team full time until July 2027.

The role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils with special educational needs, including autism and learning disabilities. You'll work one to one or in small groups, alongside the class teacher, to create a safe and consistent classroom where every pupil can make progress towards their Education, Health and Care Plan.
Your day will include:
- Supporting pupils with learning, communication and daily routines
- Helping pupils stay calm and regulated when things get difficult
- Assisting with personal care, feeding and mobility where needed
- Working closely with teachers and therapists on each pupil's plan
What you must bring
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience in care, support work, schools or with young people with additional needs
- Patience, empathy, composure and reliability
- Full time availability, Monday to Friday
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new application
- Overseas police clearance if you've lived abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years
Pay and benefits
- £105 to £130 per day depending on experience, paid weekly
- Higher rates for ongoing roles, aligned with the school's pay scale
- Daytime hours with no nights or weekends
- A dedicated consultant supporting you from application to your first day and beyond
