Do you want a role where you can genuinely influence site teams and raise health and safety standards across live infrastructure projects? Principal People are working with a leading infrastructure contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor covering projects primarily between Bournemouth and Worthing. This is a hybrid role with regular travel to sites across the region with most of your time spent on site and flexibility to work from home when not visiting projects.
You will provide hands-on health and safety support to site teams, working closely with operational staff to drive standards on the ground. The role is relationship-led. You will be visible on site, influencing behaviours, challenging where needed, and helping teams embed a positive safety culture across a diverse project portfolio. Joining a growing and well-established contractor gives you exposure to some of the UK’s largest infrastructure schemes and the opportunity to play a key part in shaping safety performance across the region.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
- Conducting site audits and site inspections.
- Conducting and assisting with incident investigations when required.
- Providing advice and support to all departments.
- Building positive relationships with on-site teams to drive forward a positive health and safety culture.
The Successful Candidate will hold:
- NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate as a minimum.
- Experience within construction or infrastructure.
- Proven experience working around underground services and service avoidance. (Desirable)
- Strong working knowledge of plant operations and lifting operations. (Desirable)
- Experience in confined spaces and working at height. (Desirable)
