Principal People are pleased to be supporting a specialist consultancy with the recruitment of a Construction / Project Manager to support a major engineering and infrastructure project based within a live operational power generation environment in North Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile engineering project involving complex mechanical, construction, and process engineering works including installation of process equipment, silos, conveyors, M&E systems, and structural steel works within an existing operational facility.
The successful Construction / Project Manager will take ownership of day-to-day site coordination and construction activities, working closely with contractors, engineering teams, operational stakeholders, and client representatives to ensure safe and efficient delivery across the project. This role would suit an experienced construction or project professional with a strong mechanical engineering background who is comfortable operating within heavy industrial, process engineering, energy, or other high hazard operational environments.

The successful Construction / Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing day to day construction and engineering activities across site
- Coordinating contractors and monitoring progress across multiple workstreams
- Supporting safe delivery of mechanical, construction, and engineering activities
- Reviewing RAMS, permits, and site activities within a live operational environment
- Managing programme coordination, sequencing, and short term planning activities
- Working closely with engineering, operational, commercial, and Health and Safety teams
- Resolving site issues and maintaining project momentum across the programme
The ideal Construction / Project Manager will have:
- Mechanical Engineering background or similar.
- Experience within industrial, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or heavy construction projects
- CSCS, Safety Passport or equivalent site certification
- Degree, HNC, or HND within Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
This is a full time resident role based on site in North Yorkshire, typically 4-5 days per week.
