This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional to join a well-established business and play a key role in maintaining compliance, driving environmental improvement initiatives and supporting wider sustainability objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams and stakeholders across the site, providing technical environmental expertise and supporting the continual improvement of the company's environmental management systems and sustainability performance. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to influence environmental performance, support strategic projects and contribute to long-term environmental and sustainability goals.
The key duties include:
- Supporting compliance with environmental legislation, permits, licences and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring environmental performance and analysing data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Preparing and submitting environmental reports to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
- Providing technical environmental advice and support across operational departments.
- Undertaking environmental audits, inspections and compliance reviews across site.
- Investigating environmental incidents and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintaining and improving environmental management systems, procedures and documentation.
- Supporting ISO 14001 compliance and external audit activities.
- Driving environmental improvement projects and sustainability initiatives across the business.
- Supporting carbon reduction, waste minimisation, resource efficiency and biodiversity programmes.
- Liaising with regulators, contractors and external stakeholders on environmental matters.
