Principal People are exclusively recruiting for a Fire Risk Assessor to join a specialist consultancy delivering Fire and Health & Safety risk-assessment services predominantly across the property-management sector.
The position offers something slightly different from the more volume-driven consultancy models in the market.
You will be trusted to manage your own diary, arrange your own client visits and structure your site and reporting workload independently. The business is not operating a model where consultants are expected to complete an assessment every day and then spend their evenings catching up on reports.
The expected workload is around 15 assessments per month, with some natural fluctuation depending on the work allocated. The business works towards approximately a three-week turnaround from site visit to report issue, rather than imposing a rigid five-day reporting deadline.
Around 95% of the workload is fire-related, predominantly Type 1 Fire Risk Assessments, with the opportunity to undertake Type 3 assessments where your competence allows. General Health & Safety Risk Assessments are also commonly undertaken alongside the FRA, particularly around landlord compliance.
