Looking to lead HSE strategy across multi-million-pound water frameworks? We’re recruiting on behalf of a major UK Principal Contractor to appoint a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager for key Southern Water and Affinity Water frameworks. You’ll play a senior leadership role across a growing programme of works, with individual projects exceeding £60m.
The Opportunity:
- Lead on HSE strategy across two major water frameworks
- Join an established SHEQ team, managing 8+ professionals
- Drive cultural change and strategic improvement across MEICA and civils schemes
- Influence senior leaders and work closely with clients and regulators
- Be part of a growing region with £140m turnover and increasing demand

- £70,000–£75,000 base (flex for exceptional candidates)

What you’ll be doing:
- Leading framework-wide health, safety, and environmental performance
- Coaching and developing HSE team members (Advisors to Senior Advisors)
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders including the Head of HSE, Regional Ops Directors, and Framework MDs
- Using data to drive performance, spot trends and implement improvements
- Working 2 days from home, 2 days in either Rickmansworth or Southampton offices, and 1 day on site or flex
What we’re looking for:
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- Experience managing teams in a tier 1 civils or MEICA environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement – from site teams to SLT
- Demonstrable success improving safety culture and performance
- Background in water, utilities, MEICA, or groundworks
