Principal People are delighted to be recruiting for a HSE Manager for our client who are a market-leading Telecoms organisation working on a varied and diverse portfolio of projects with a range of blue-chip clients.
This is a homebased role covering the North-West / Yorkshire Region in a multisite capacity and is offering £55-65k + Package.
The successful HSE Manager will report into the Head of HSE Manager and will be well supported by an experienced and established team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business delivering major infrastructure projects within the Telecoms sector, supporting a diverse portfolio of high risk construction and civil engineering works across the region.
This role offers a flexible working arrangement with a mix of site, home, and office working, based from an office near to Leeds.
The successful HSE Manager will provide operational safety leadership across multiple live sites, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors, senior leadership, and client representatives to drive standards, challenge constructively, and support a positive safety culture across the business.
The key responsibilities of the HSE Manager
- This role will shape a positive, safe culture—reducing harm, improving health, and promoting overall safer working.
You’ll guide teams to work smarter and safer, solve issues, and drive long-term improvements with a right-first-time attitude.
- Championing environmental care, you’ll help cut carbon, boost performance, and raise operational standards.
You’ll manage risk, introduce effective controls, and ensure high standards in all work—especially in sensitive areas near homes and businesses.
- You will manage a small team of regional SHEQ Advisors within the role.
- You will bring practical knowledge and know how to support others to follow best practice—helping everyone work safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
The Successful HSE Manager will hold
- Proven experience within the telecoms sector (May consider utilities-based background gas/water/electric)
- NEBOSH qualified or equivalent (mandatory) (Diploma level is desirable)
- Have managed a team of direct reports previously
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practice
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive, solution-focused approach
