We are pleased to be working with a leading retail organisation to recruit a new Health and Safety Officer to their growing team. Working as part of their group health and safety function, you will be visiting nationwide sites and technicians to engage and empower staff to prioritise safety in their daily operations.
The focus of this role is to carry out spot-checks and inspections across national sites, helping to champion a positive safety culture by identifying gaps in behavioural safety and compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys travel and is looking for a new and diverse role. You will be working alongside an experienced and supportive team, with opportunities for growth and development within the business.
In this role you will:
- Conduct audits and workplace inspections to monitor and assess safety behaviours.
- Provide practical safety guidance and advice to staff.
- Help identify improvements to safety systems and practices.
- Assist Health and Safety Advisors with incident investigations where required.
- Promote and share good safety practices.
- Support effective relationships with internal teams, unions, partners, and contractors.
- Handle employee and public liability matters confidentially.
- Assist in the coordination of Health and Safety initiatives within the group.
