We are pleased to have been exclusively retained by a North East based Education Group to recruit a Head of HSE to the business following a recent merger. You will be responsible for safety across six campuses in the North East and if you enjoy variety in your role then look no further. It’s not just classrooms here – sites also include farmland, accommodation, and a zoo! Reporting to the Vice Principal and leading a small team, you will have the chance to work closely with senior management and make a real difference not only in Health and Safety, but to the lives and wellbeing of both students and staff. In this role you will:
- Effectively lead the organisation’s HSE function, embedding a positive safety culture within all areas of the business
- Collaborate and work with all business areas across the colleges to maintain compliance, monitor competency levels, and identify training needs
- Create and deliver an environmental strategy for the group, ensuring compliance across all six sites
- Review and update policies and procedures in alignment with HSE strategies to help embed these across the organisation
- Monitor sustainability performance, measuring and assessing strategies and initiatives

The successful candidate will have:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent level 6 qualification
- IEMA Certificate or similar environmental qualification is ideal but not essential

- The ability to take initiative, with a can-do attitude
- Valid UK driving licence
