Principal People are proud to be exclusively partnering with a leading national Transport and Logistics organisation in the search for a Head of Health and Safety. This is a national leadership role offering a high degree of flexibility and autonomy, with a hybrid working model combining site presence across the UK and home working to support a healthy work-life balance.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will take full ownership of the Health and Safety strategy and be instrumental in shaping a culture of safety across the business. You will lead a team of forward-thinking EHS professionals, fostering continuous development and delivering best-in-class safety practices. The role will be working for a FTSE250 Company and you will report into the Managing Director, who is highly invested in Health and Safety.
The Role:
- Lead the development and implementation of the company's Health and Safety strategy across all national sites.
- Provide expert guidance and hands-on support to site teams on all Health, Safety, and Environmental matters.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of Health and Safety Advisors, supporting their growth and encouraging innovation.
- Foster strong relationships with operational teams to embed a proactive and positive safety culture.
- Identify underperforming sites and work closely with local teams to drive targeted improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a senior operational Health and Safety role.
- Experience managing and developing Health and Safety teams.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationally.
