A varied Quantity Surveyor / Estimator role with an established regional building contractor delivering refurbishment, alteration and improvement projects across public sector environments.
This role offers broad involvement across estimating, tendering, procurement, commercial management and final accounts, giving you exposure to both pre-construction and project delivery.
You'll be joining a close-knit business where you can work across the full project lifecycle, support long-term client relationships and play a key role in both securing and delivering projects.
The business delivers refurbishment, alteration and improvement works across sectors including education, healthcare, local authority and wider public sector settings, with projects ranging from smaller works through to multi-million-pound schemes.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing procurement and subcontractor packages
- Overseeing valuations, variations, cost control and final accounts
- Producing commercial reports, forecasts and project financial updates
- Assisting with written quality responses and bid information
- Working closely with project teams to manage commercial performance
- Building relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
- Helping improve commercial, estimating and tendering processes
The role would suit a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor / Estimator who enjoys variety and wants involvement in both pre-construction and project delivery.
Experience required:
- Working as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or QS/Estimator
- Experience with a building contractor, refurbishment contractor or similar construction environment
- Good knowledge of estimating, procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts
- Experience supporting tenders, bids, frameworks or pre-construction activity
- Confidence working with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams
- Good written communication skills, particularly around tender or quality submissions
- Experience across refurbishment, alterations, education, healthcare, local authority or public sector projects would be beneficial, but broader building contractor experience will also be considered.
