Principal IT are supporting a growing technology and AV solutions provider delivering IT support, managed services and audio visual solutions to customers across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an IT Support Technician to join their support team based in Hull.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous IT support experience who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced technical environment. The successful candidate will provide first-line technical support to both internal users and external customers, supporting a range of IT systems, devices, and cloud-based services. The role will involve responding to support requests, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining IT equipment, and assisting with day-to-day service desk operations. There will also be opportunities to gain exposure to AV technologies and customer project work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first line technical support for internal and customer systems.
- Monitor and respond to incidents and service requests through the customer support service desk (Freshdesk), email and telephone.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, networking and AV system issues in a timely manner.
- Assist in the maintenance of office IT infrastructure, including networks, endpoints, and cloud services.
- Support cybersecurity measures by following company policies and assisting with compliance tasks (e.g. Cyber Essentials, GDPR requirements).
- Carry out routine system checks, updates, and preventative maintenance activities for customer installations.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and testing of AV and IT equipment for projects.
- Maintain accurate records of support activities, asset inventories, and system configurations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience within an IT support or service desk role.
- Good understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Basic networking knowledge.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple support requests effectively.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience using ticketing systems such as Freshdesk.
- Exposure to AV technologies.
- Knowledge of Azure or cloud-based services.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications.
