We are recruiting for a Sales Manager to join our proactive sales team at De Vere Wokefield Estate near Reading. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you’ll play a key role in driving revenue, building strong relationships with new and existing corporate clients, and positioning Wokefield as the venue of choice for meetings, training, residential conferences, and corporate events.
In this role you will:
- Conduct sales appointments on‑site, at client offices, and at industry events to showcase our facilities and generate high‑quality enquiries.
- Research, identify and convert new corporate opportunities, with a strong focus on residential conferences, training and day meetings.
- Support the creation and delivery of a proactive sales plan across conference, events, corporate, local and UK markets.
- Assist the Director of Sales on key commercial projects, campaigns and strategic initiatives.
- Build long‑term partnerships that contribute to sustained revenue growth and client retention.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ proactive sales experience within hospitality, hotels or events.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to represent the De Vere brand professionally.
- A full UK driving licence and your own transport, as regular UK travel is required.
- Flexibility to host FAM trips, attend networking events and meet clients during evenings or weekends when needed.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills, with the ability to manage your diary effectively and achieve set KPIs.
- Working knowledge of Opera or Salesforce is beneficial, but full training can be provided.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to understand how sales activity links directly to revenue and profit.
