SEN Teaching Assistant – East London

We\’re seeking a confident, compassionateSEN TA / Behaviour Mentorto join a dynamic SEN School in East London. You\’ll work closely with students with special educational needs (SEN), providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support to help them engage, progress, and thrive in the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs
• Implement behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to maintain a positive learning environment
• Assist teachers in planning and adapting lessons to meet individual needs
• Foster emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence in pupils
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents

Ideal candidate

• Experienced working with children with SEN or behavioural challenges
• Patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting diverse needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Able to remain calm under pressure and use restorative approaches

Requirements

• Must hold a validenhanced DBS certificate
• Able to providetwo professional reference emails
