We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant with a Science specialism to join a thriving secondary school in the Hackney area. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who is considering a career in teaching and would like to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive school environment.
The Role
- Support students in Science lessons (KS3 & KS4)
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resources and classroom organisation
- Provide targeted support to students with SEND, EAL or lower prior attainment
- Help promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Contribute to the wider life of the school
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a degree in a Science subject (or related field)
- Has a genuine interest in education and working with young people
- Is patient, reliable, proactive and enthusiastic
- Has strong communication skills
- Is considering teacher training in the future (desirable but not essential)
