Principal Education is recruiting a committed and engaging Science Teacher to support secondary schools across South London. We are working with a range of schools seeking strong practitioners who can deliver high-quality Science lessons and maintain high standards of teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may also be available, depending on experience). This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is confident in the classroom, adaptable, and passionate about Science education.
The Role
- Delivering engaging and structured Science lessons
- Supporting pupil progress
- Contributing positively to the wider school environment
- Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics)
- Planning and delivering lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining high expectations
- Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
- Supporting practical lessons, experiments, and lab safety
- Working collaboratively with the Science department and wider staff team
These are full-time, long-term roles (Monday to Friday), offering stability and the opportunity to make a real impact.
Essential Requirements
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Science in UK secondary schools
- Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom presence
- Effective behaviour management skills
- A professional, organised, and proactive approach
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Right to work in the UK
- A recent Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Based in South London or able to commute reliably
Pay & Benefits
- £160 - £250 per day, depending on experience and responsibility
