About the Role
An established and well-regarded multi-academy trust in East London is seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Lead to support the effective day-to-day running of a secondary school. This is a key role working closely with senior leaders, ensuring that operational systems, administration, and support services run efficiently to enable high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of the school
- Ensure administrative and operational systems are efficient and effective
- Act as a key point of contact for operational queries and issues
- Finance
- Support budget processes and monitor expenditure
- Raise purchase orders and ensure compliance with financial procedures
- Liaise with central finance teams to maintain accurate records
- Human Resources
- Coordinate recruitment administration and onboarding processes
- Maintain staff records and support absence monitoring
- Act as a link between the school and central HR functions
- Estates and Health & Safety
- Ensure the school site is safe, secure, and well maintained
- Coordinate maintenance, statutory checks, and repairs
- Support health and safety compliance and risk management
- Compliance and Administration
- Ensure policies and procedures are consistently followed
- Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections
- Support preparation for Ofsted and internal reviews
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in an operations, administration, or school-based role
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace)
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
Desirable
- Experience working within a school or multi-academy trust
- Knowledge of finance, HR, or estates processes
