Job Description:
As an English Teacher you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons in English Language and Literature to students at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, or Key Stage 5. You will be expected to create a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to engage critically with texts and develop their writing, reading, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan, teach, and assess English lessons for Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, or Key Stage 5 students, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
2. Develop students\’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, with a focus on both literary and language proficiency.
3. Encourage a passion for literature and creative writing, fostering critical thinking and independent learning.
4. Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback.
5. Prepare students for internal and external exams, including GCSEs and A-Levels.
6. Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of a range of abilities and provide appropriate support for all learners.
7. Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the curriculum.
8. Contribute to extracurricular activities related to English, such as book clubs, drama productions, or writing competitions.
9. Uphold a positive classroom culture that promotes inclusivity, respect, and engagement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject.
3. Strong knowledge of the English curriculum at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, or Key Stage 5.
4. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
5. A passion for teaching and a genuine enthusiasm for literature and language.
6. Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, or Key Stage 5 is desirable.
7. Ability to inspire and engage students with varying abilities and learning styles.
8. Experience teaching GCSE or A-Level English Literature and/or Language.
9. Familiarity with the latest teaching strategies and technologies.
10. A creative and flexible approach to teaching.
11. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues.
