Principal Education is seeking enthusiastic and adaptable individuals to work as teaching assistants and unqualified cover teachers in secondary schools across London. These are flexible daily supply roles – you choose when you’re available. No formal teaching qualifications are required, though previous experience working with young people is highly desirable.
The roles:
- Teaching Assistant: Support small groups of pupils with SEN or behavioural needs, or provide 1:1 support to help create an inclusive classroom.
- Unqualified Cover Teacher: Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher, managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
What you MUST demonstrate:
- Right to work in the UK
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to support pupils with SEN and behavioural challenges
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Calmness under pressure
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new application.
- Overseas police clearance if you’ve lived abroad for 6+ months in the last 5 years
- Based in London or within a commutable distance
Pay and benefits:
