Principal Education is working on behalf of a high-achieving and well-respected secondary school in East London to recruit an outstanding Head of Economics for a September 2026 start. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Economics teacher looking to take the next step into leadership, or for an existing Head of Economics seeking a new challenge within a supportive and academically successful environment.
The Role
- Lead and manage the Economics curriculum across KS4 and KS5.
- Deliver outstanding Economics lessons that inspire and challenge students.
- Monitor student progress and implement effective intervention strategies.
- Lead curriculum planning, assessment and quality assurance within the department.
- Support and develop colleagues through coaching and sharing best practice.
- Promote high standards of teaching, learning and achievement.
- Contribute to the wider academic and enrichment programme of the school.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has a strong academic background in Economics or a related discipline.
- Demonstrates a proven track record of securing excellent student outcomes.
- Has experience teaching Economics at A-Level.
- Possesses strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Is passionate about developing a high-performing department and inspiring students to achieve their full potential.
