About the Role: We are seeking a driven and forward-thinking Head of Business to lead and develop our Business Studies provision. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious educator or experienced middle leader to shape a high-quality, relevant curriculum that prepares students for the modern world of work, enterprise, and entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will lead the subject across Key Stages 4 and 5 (with potential to contribute to Key Stage 3), delivering engaging lessons and ensuring strong outcomes for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the Business Studies curriculum to ensure outstanding teaching and learning
- Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire students and develop real-world business understanding
- Drive student achievement and monitor progress across all key stages
- Develop enrichment opportunities such as enterprise projects, trips, and partnerships with local businesses
- Support and develop staff within the department
- Contribute to whole-school improvement and curriculum innovation
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Have experience teaching Business Studies at secondary level (KS4/KS5)
- Demonstrate strong leadership and organisational skills
- Be passionate about enterprise, finance, and preparing students for future careers
- Have a track record of strong student outcomes
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
