SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN Support worker - East London
We're seeking a confident, compassionate SEN TA / SEN Support Worker to join a dynamic East London school. You'll work closely with students with special educational needs (SEN), providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support to help them engage, progress, and thrive in the classroom.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs
- Implement behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to maintain a positive learning environment
- Assist teachers in planning and adapting lessons to meet individual needs
- Foster emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence in pupils
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
Ideal candidate
- Experienced working with children with SEN partuclarly Autism & Complex Needs
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting diverse needs
- Comfortable supporting personal care needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Able to remain calm under pressure and use restorative approaches
Requirements
- Must hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate
- Able to provide two professional reference emails
