Principal Education is working in partnership with a highly regarded and inclusive secondary school in East London to recruit an experienced SEND Teacher for September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving specialist Autism Resource Provision (ARP), supporting students with autism and additional learning needs to achieve excellent academic, social and personal outcomes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a bespoke curriculum while helping shape an ambitious, inclusive provision within the school.
This role would suit an experienced SEND Teacher looking to take the next step into a leadership‑focused position, or an established specialist teacher seeking a new challenge within a supportive and forward‑thinking environment.
The Role
You will
- Deliver high‑quality teaching for students with Autism and associated SEND needs.
- Plan and deliver an engaging, personalised curriculum that enables every student to thrive.
- Lead learning within the specialist provision, ensuring outstanding educational outcomes.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and external professionals to provide exceptional support.
- Monitor student progress, implement targeted interventions and contribute to EHCP reviews.
- Build positive relationships with families and external agencies to ensure a joined‑up approach to student development.
- Support colleagues through coaching, guidance and sharing best practice in inclusive education.
- Help develop an inclusive culture where every student is supported to reach their potential.
- The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching students with Autism and/or additional SEND needs.
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Experience working with EHCPs and multi‑agency professionals.
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills.
- A collaborative approach and genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people with SEND.
- Leadership experience or the ambition to progress into a leadership role (desirable).
