An ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Dagenham is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Drama Teacher to join its Performing Arts department on a full-time maternity cover from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging Drama lessons that encourage creativity, confidence and performance skills. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and ECTs with a genuine passion for Drama education.

The Role

  • Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire creativity and achievement.
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback to support learning.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.
  • Contribute to extra-curricular Drama productions and wider Performing Arts activities where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive and well-established department.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching Drama in a UK secondary school.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
