Planning and Delivering Lessons
- Teach a range of physical activities (e.g., athletics, games, fitness, team sports).
- Create engaging, safe, and inclusive lesson plans suitable for different abilities.
- Ensure lessons meet curriculum requirements (e.g., National Curriculum for PE).
Promoting Health and Fitness
- Help students understand the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
- Teach concepts like fitness, nutrition, anatomy, and wellbeing.
- Encourage lifelong participation in exercise and sport.
Assessing and Monitoring Progress
- Evaluate students performance, skill development, effort, and behaviour.
- Provide feedback that supports improvement.
- Prepare formal assessments and contribute to reports.
Managing Safety and Behaviour
- Ensure safe use of equipment and facilities.
- Conduct risk assessments for activities.
- Maintain order and positive behaviour in lessons, changing rooms, and sports spaces.
Extracurricular Activities
- Organise sports clubs, fitness sessions, and inter‑school teams.
- Coach sports teams and attend competitions.
- Promote opportunities for students to develop talent and teamwork.
Pastoral and Professional Responsibilities
- Act as a role model for professionalism and healthy habits.
- Support students confidence, teamwork, resilience, and social skills.
- Attend meetings, training, and contribute to whole‑school initiatives.
Administration and Organisation
- Manage equipment, bookings, and resources.
- Plan events such as sports day, tournaments, and after‑school fixtures.
