We are seeking a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Midday Supervisor to join our supportive team at a specialist school in Peckham, working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The Role
As a Midday Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring pupils have a safe, calm, and positive lunchtime experience. You will support students during lunch, encourage social interaction, and help with play and structured activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising pupils during lunchtime, both indoors and outdoors
- Supporting children with additional needs, including communication, behaviour, and personal care where required
- Encouraging positive behaviour and social skills
- Assisting pupils with eating and mobility as needed
- Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times
- Working closely with teaching and support staff
About You
- Kind, patient, and nurturing with a genuine interest in working with children with SEND
- Calm and confident when supporting children with a range of needs
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Experience working with children or young people (especially SEND) is desirable but not essential
- Willingness to undertake safeguarding and relevant training
